19th Annual Cowan Pottery Museum -- May 9

This year's annual Cowan Pottery Symposium will be held all day on Saturday, May 9 from 9:30 a.m. � 4:00 p.m.  It is open to all who are interested in Cowan Pottery, antiques, collecting, local history, and the arts in general.   The day includes an open forum of sharing experiences and showing newly acquired pieces, guest speakers who address topics either directly or indirectly related to Cowan Pottery, a scholarship presentation to a Cleveland Institute of Art ceramics student, the Cowan Pottery Associates annual meeting, continental breakfast and lunch catered by Great Scott�s Bakery  and a dinner offsite at the Beachcliff Tavern in Rocky River (the dinner is always a separate charge).

COMPUTER BREAKFAST SERIES: Downloading Audiobooks -- May 13

Audiobooks are not limited to CDs and Cassettes anymore. Audiobooks are downloadable on MP3 players. A representative from Overdrive will show you what is available through RRPL including our new Download Station. The Download Station gives you the ability to put your audiobooks on your listening device right in the library where someone is available to help you. No registration

Rocky River Library Book Festival -- May 16

Join us for 50 Authors, Book Discussions, Prizes and much more on Saturday, May 16 at the Don Umerley Civic Center Auditorium 10am - 3pm,

Teens are welcome to gather in the basement to play video games, watch movies and just have

Adult Evening Book Group: The Help -- May 20
Come join our book discussion of The Help, a new novel set in the 1960s Deep South and told through the voices of three women whose lives intersect as they work for change amidst segregation. No registration.

Sharpen Your Interviewing Skills-- May 21
Join Robin Wood, Director of the Amherst Public Library, in this fun and dynamic workshop. Robin is an experienced human resources practitioner, with over 20 years experience in both the private and public sectors. Her expertise and knowledge can help you land that new job!No registration.

The library will be closed in observanc of the Memorial Day Holiday. We will reopen Tuesday, May 26th at 9am.

  • BOOKS ON TAPE SALE -- April 18 & 19

    ROCKY RIVER PUBLIC LIBRARY is having a Books on Tape Sale on Saturday, April 18th and Sunday April 19th from 1:00pm - 4:45pm. All books on tape will be priced at $2 each or 3 for $5.00. Be there early to purchase your favorite authors. All proceeds will benefit the Women's Committee of Rocky River Public Library.
  • Teen Scene in the Basement -- April 21

    Teens are welcome to gather in the basement to play video games, watch movies and just have  fun and snacks. 3:30pm in the Auditorium
  • River Readers -- April 21

    For students in grades 4 and 5. Food is sometimes used in craft projects and given as a snack. Come join us for a good read and a book discussion group, kid style. Enjoy a glass of More Moo Than Latte (that's chocolate milk to moms and dads) during a fun exploration of our selected book title. Title and copy of the book will be provided at the time of registration. Space is limited.  Registration is required.
  • COMPUTER BREAKFAST SERIES: Travel Tips Online -- April 22

    Bryan, the library's own travel guru, will be back again to highlight more travel websites. Important travel websites will be reviewed and some new ones will be introduced.
